The Distance Riders of Manitoba Association (DRMA) promotes Endurance Riding in the province of Manitoba and brings together equestrians interested in the sport.

Several supervised rides are sanctioned every year, open to both members and non-members. There are, however, many benefits associated with membership in the organization.

DRMA is associated with the Manitoba Horse Council.

2011-08-10 ----- CANCELLED ride!-----
The Black Hawk ride in Ontario will not happen this year. (sorry for the delayed posting, but even webmasters need a holiday now and then). Here's Rachel's message explaining:

I have been reluctant to send this message out as I have given this
much thought. But I am canceling the Black Fly ride.
I have received very little interest from anyone attending (2
confirmed and 8 maybes). I can't justify bringing Glenn all the way
here with this uncertainty. I thought long and hard about bringing
it to another venue (Birds Hill) and despite the gracious offer of
help from Maura and Iris, I will not be able to swing it. Thanks
Maura for trying so hard to help me when you will not even be here!
So, another ride cancelled. Sorry. What a crappy year.

2011-07-13 Spruce Woods results are posted. Thank you to all volunteers and participants.

2011-06-20  Thanks to Carl and Chelsea Ashton for hosting the DRM clinic and trail ride at Pembina Valley on Saturday  June 18th. We had a glorious day, the camp site was wonderful, and the scenery was spectacular. It was very much enjoyed by all who attended. Maura Leahy talked at the clinic and the newcomers learned much from the information. It was wonderful riding in a new area - made possible by Brenda and her husband who kindly allowed us onto their property for the weekend.

2011-05-12    Here's information on some Horse Council activities coming up, sent on from Prue. It is copied here as a graphic, because I could not find it on the Council site.  (It is there now, along with some other info, have a look now and then!)

2011-02-26  Minutes of the spring general meeting are posted -click here. The upcoming season's Awards highlighted: this year we will be offering end of year High Point Awards to members in the 25 mile Limited Distance ride and the 50 mile Open Division. There is a separate award given to the 100 mile rider (we don't have a 100 this year - so far!) This year we will offer a High Point end of year award to a Junior (16 years and under) providing there have been three or more junior entries.
We are being sponsored for our 50 mile award and details of this will follow shortly.
During the ride season, riders placing 1st, 2nd or 3rd in either the 25 mile Limited Distance ride or the 50 mile Open ride will receive a coupon worth 5 points. These can be collected and redeemed for prizes by the participant at the AGM. These are available to both members and non-members.

2008-02-29 The Swynar Tack shop in Steinbach offers a Club Loyalty Program; Evelyn Allen has signed us up, so if you happen to shop there, make sure to tell them you are a DRM member - the club will then get some money back from them at the end of the year. Thanks Evelyn, thanks Swynar!
